The Sound-to-Story Method
Hear it. Blend it. Read it to your grown-up.
Every lesson follows the same short path, in a fixed order of sounds. Your child helps Mip's garden grow by reading, not by tapping for prizes.
Hear the sound
A real human voice says each letter sound the clean way: "mmm", not "muh". Your child says it back and traces the letter.
Blend it
Slide under the letters to blend sounds into a word: mmm-aaa-t, mat. Reading is the game.
Read it to you
Your child reads a word, a sentence, then a whole story to you. You listen and tap ✓. No microphone, no recordings.
Built to stop
Screen time that ends itself.
- Each lesson is about 10 minutes, then it says "done for today" and gives an off-screen game (like a "mmm" hunt around the house).
- No ads. No coins, no loot boxes, no streaks that guilt your child.
- The reward is the next story your child can now read.
- One price for every child in your home. We'll tell you the price before you ever enter a card.

Free printable
My First Book: 12 pages, only 6 sounds.
Every word in it uses only the sounds from lessons 1–3 (m, a, s, t, p, i), plus the little word "a". Print it, fold it, and let your child read it to you.
Straight talk
What we promise, and what we don't.
- We teach in the order reading research supports: letter sounds first, blending right away, stories that only use sounds your child knows, and lots of reading aloud to you.
- We show you exactly which sounds and words your child can read, so you can see progress for yourself.
- We won't promise your child will "read in 30 days". Every child is different.
- We don't diagnose anything. If you're worried about your child's reading, talk with their teacher or pediatrician.
Questions parents ask
Is this an app?
We're building the full app now. The first 3 lessons already work in your phone or tablet browser, even offline once loaded. Join the waitlist to hear when the app is ready.
What ages is it for?
Ages 3 to 7. Most children start lessons around 4 to 6. Younger children can start with sound games and listening while you read the book to them. The 2-minute check suggests where to start.
Do you collect information about my child?
No. Kids don't make accounts. The free lessons keep progress only on your device. We only collect a parent's email (if you choose to give it) and your quiz answers about where to start. Privacy policy.
Does my child need to talk into the microphone?
No. Your child reads to you, and you tap ✓. We never record your child's voice.
What will it cost?
One price covers every child in your home. Waitlist families hear the Founding Family price first. You'll always see the exact price and date before anything is charged.
Is it based on research?
The lessons follow the structure recommended by the US Institute of Education Sciences' foundational reading guide and the National Reading Panel: systematic, explicit phonics with decodable text. That describes how we designed it; it's not a promise about any one child's results.
